This session will share some of the progress Providence has made to take action on its climate resilience plan. We will describe the multidisciplinary approach we took to evaluate the climate resilience of our 55 acute care facilities (spanning 7 western states and ranging in size from 6 to 697 licensed beds), using an adapted Health and Human Services assessment template. In our approach we collaborated with environmental stewardship leads, facility leads, real estate partners and emergency managers. We will share our process, key take aways, lessons learned and our next steps. We will then share how we created metrics and targets for our system, and the tools we use to track this on an ongoing basis.
Session objectives:
- Describe the role of disciplinary approach and identify key elements of the adapted HHS assessment. Share summary results from this assessment.
- Explain the process and need for meaningful metrics.
- Demonstrate how tools are necessary to manage and track.
